Canada arrests suspects linked to murder blamed on India

In June of last year, a Sikh separatist leader named Hardeep Singh Nijjar was brutally murdered in Canada. The crime was attributed to the Indian government by Ottawa authorities. Three men, Kamalpreet Singh, Karanpreet Singh, and Karan Brar, all Indian citizens, have been arrested in connection with the murder. They have been charged with aggravated murder and conspiracy according to court documents filed in Surrey, British Columbia.

During a news conference, Mandeep Mooker, superintendent of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, revealed that they are investigating any possible links the suspects may have had with the Indian government. The investigation uncovered that the suspects were part of a group of hired killers possibly involved in three other murders in Canada. These murders include that of an 11-year-old boy in Edmonton.

Hardeep Singh Nijjar was a supporter of creating Khalistan, an independent Sikh country in Punjab, India. He had been labeled as a terrorist by the Indian government. In September of last year, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused the Indian government of being involved in Nijjar’s murder leading to the expulsion of diplomats from both countries. Despite this accusation by Trudeau and his administration’s investigation into Nijjar’s murder is ongoing. The suspects are currently facing serious criminal charges for their alleged involvement in the crime.

The three men arrested for their role in Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s murder are Kamalpreet Singh, Karanpreet Singh and Karan Brar all Indian citizens who have been charged with aggravated murder and conspiracy according to court documents filed in Surrey British Columbia where Nijjar was shot outside a temple.
