CBS Sports Kicks Off Coverage of 2024 NWSL Season with Thrilling Match between Washington Spirit and NJ/NY Gotham FC

CBS Sports to debut new partnership with NWSL, featuring record number of matches on network TV.

CBS Sports kicked off its coverage of the 2024 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season with a thrilling match between the Washington Spirit and NJ/NY Gotham FC on April 20. The game was broadcast on CBS at 1 PM, ET and streamed live on Paramount+ for Showtime subscribers to enjoy. Chris Wittyngham and Lori Lindsey provided the commentary for the match, while Poppy Miller hosted the studio coverage alongside analysts Darian Jenkins and Brianna Scurry.

The 2024 NWSL Championship will air on CBS and stream live on Paramount+ in primetime for the third consecutive year on Saturday, Nov. 23. In addition to live match coverage, CBS Sports Golazo Network will offer extensive NWSL coverage on its dedicated women’s soccer show ATTACKING THIRD, as well as other studio programming like MORNING FOOTY, BOX 2 BOX, and SCORELINE. Additional NWSL coverage will be available on CBSSports.com, the Golazo Starting XI newsletter, and the @AttackingThird social accounts.

CBS Sports’ new deal with the league marks a significant milestone in their ongoing efforts to promote women’s soccer in North America. Under this agreement, up to 12 matches per season will be broadcast on television across CBS and Paramount+, as well as multiple postseason matches including the Championship match. CBS Sports Network will also televise up to 10 matches each year.

Julie Keryc serves as Senior Coordinating Producer for CBS Sports’ NWSL coverage, with Mike Nastri as the Coordinating Producer for studio coverage. Carlo Gennarini is the Lead Producer for the NWSL, under the leadership of Harold Bryant, Executive Producer and Executive Vice President of Production at CBS Sports.
