Chiefs Prepare for 2023 NFL Draft with a Focus on Offense and Defense

Chiefs’ 3-peat push can be strengthened in the NFL Draft by focusing on these key areas

In the 2023 NFL season, the Kansas City Chiefs clinched their second consecutive Super Bowl victory. As they prepare to enter the NFL Draft, they have picks in every round except for the 6th round. Their selections include No. 32 in the first round, No. 64 in the second round, No. 95 in the third round, No. 131 in the fourth round, and Nos. 159 and 173 in the fifth round (compensatory).

The Chiefs’ top priorities heading into this year’s draft are wide receiver, offensive tackle, defensive line, and cornerback. Despite their recent successes on the field, they still have several areas that need improvement. The team is seeking a reliable offensive tackle to protect Patrick Mahomes and provide depth to their lineup on offense. They also need more depth on their defensive line to complement Chris Jones and Justin Houston’s play on defense. Finally, with L’Jarius Sneed being traded to Tennessee Titans last year as an injury replacement for Tyreek Hill who was out due to injury during Super Bowl LVII match against Tampa Bay Buccaneers and now he is out of team so there is a need of replacement for star cornerback Sneed at this position as well

In last year’s draft class, the Chiefs had some mixed results with Rashee Rice becoming a top receiving weapon after Travis Kelce but DE Felix Anudike-Uzomah didn’t stand out and Wanya Morris only filled in temporarily at left tackle while Morris was injured . However overall they received an A grade for their draft class . They are looking forward to improve upon these results with their picks in this year’s draft

A dream fantasy pick for the Chiefs would be Texas wide receiver Adonai Mitchell who excels in press coverage and has ability to win downfield against tight coverage . He would be a perfect fit for Kansas city receivers room given his size , speed , agility and route running ability . He could provide depth behind Rice and Marquise Brown
