As a mother, I wanted to reach out to you for advice on how to deal with my 8-year-old son’s behavior during his sports practices. Despite talking to him before the season started about being respectful and focused, he still tends to act out and be disruptive. This is frustrating, as it seems like he turns into a class clown when I am coaching, not listening or interrupting for his friends.
I understand that some of his behavior may not be entirely out of character, but it seems to be amplified during practice sessions. For example, he sometimes does drills incorrectly or purposefully slows them down, which affects not only his own progress but also that of the entire team.
