Comcast Proactively Credits Customers After Failed Negotiations with Bally Sports Detroit

This is how much Comcast is compensating customers who lost Bally Sports Detroit

Comcast has announced that Xfinity customers who lost access to Bally Sports Detroit will receive a monthly credit as a result of failed contract negotiations between Comcast and Diamond Sports Group. The channel became unavailable to Michiganders with Xfinity as of midnight on Tuesday into Wednesday.

Diamond Sports Group declined multiple offers from Comcast, resulting in the loss of the rights to the programming. Comcast has been working with Diamond Sports Group for months, providing them with extensions and offers to continue carrying their networks. Despite their efforts, an agreement could not be reached.

As a result, Comcast is proactively crediting customers for the costs associated with the loss of Bally Sports Detroit. Most affected customers will automatically receive $8 to $10 per month in credits. The company expressed their desire to continue carrying the networks but stated that the decision was ultimately out of their control. A message on channel 201 notified customers of the loss and informed them that they will receive a proactive monthly credit.
