Asymmetric Technologies Acquired by Bluestone-Backed CTI; Jay Moorman Provides Comment

In recent news, Chesapeake Technology International (CTI) has acquired Asymmetric Technologies, expanding their product range and capabilities to better serve the Department of Defense and national security customers.

Founded in 2011, Asymmetric Technologies specializes in providing open-source technologies, flight controllers, and waveform technologies specifically designed for mission-specific requirements of national security and DOD clients.

CTI CEO Jay Moorman stated that this acquisition will strengthen their ability to provide comprehensive software and purpose-built hardware products and solutions to their customers. This move reaffirms their strategy to invest in their business to address the evolving needs in national security.

As a result of the acquisition, CTI will be incorporating Asymmetric’s IronClad and Whisper systems into their product portfolio. This acquisition marks CTI’s second investment in the delivery of new platforms to meet the unmanned aircraft system requirements of the DOD.

CTI is a portfolio company of Bluestone Investment Partners, a private equity firm that specializes in targeting middle-market businesses in the defense and government services sector.
