Disney’s Newest Addition: “Smellephants on Parade” at Magic Kingdom

New Smelling Elephants Arrive at Magic Kingdom

At the magical world of the Magic Kingdom in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, visitors are surrounded by a delightful array of scents. From sweet treats at Main Street Confectionery to the musty aroma on the “Pirates of the Caribbean” ride, guests are constantly enveloped in a sensory experience.

Starting in May, Disney is introducing a new way for visitors to immerse themselves in the theme park through elephants. The company has unveiled a sneak peek of “Smellephants on Parade,” presented by Scentsy, a search-and-sniff adventure located at the Storybook Circus.

As guests step into the land, they will encounter a casting call posted by Timothy Q. Mouse, who is looking for a “Whiff-sistant” to join Dumbo’s latest act. Search-and-sniffers can then pick up an illustrated map of the area and a sticker sheet at the ticket booth near Big Top Souvenirs.

The first “Smellephant” to be unveiled will be themed with the scent of popcorn, a popular circus snack. Additional statues will feature smells like churro and cotton candy. Once all installations are complete, there will be eight “Smellephant” statues scattered throughout the Storybook Circus section.

The interactive search-and-sniff experience will be complimentary and available to all guests, including those with sensitive noses. Disney has been using scents to enhance guest experiences for years and this new addition is just another way for visitors to create magical memories during their time at Magic Kingdom.
