Timberline Students Return Home from National Science Bowl Competition

A group of Timberline School eighth-graders recently competed in the National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C., after winning at the regional level earlier in the school year. The team consisted of Krish Joshi, Neil Nallabirudu, Ishani Atluri, Adwaiyth Muthuranam, and Evan Midtlyng.

The students spent months preparing for the tournament, dedicating numerous hours each day using various study methods such as watching videos and reading textbooks. Ishani Atluri emphasized the importance of hard work and commitment in achieving success, stating that their efforts directly led to positive results.

The team ended with four wins and four losses, defeating teams from Alaska, New York, Tennessee, and West Virginia while respectfully losing to teams from North Carolina and the previous year’s Championship team from Bellevue, Washington. Coach Julie Stevens commended the students for their self-motivation, teamwork, and eagerness to improve their knowledge and skills.

In addition to competing in the science bowl, the students took a trip to Washington D.C., participating in various activities and meeting new people. They also visited historic sites such as Ford’s Theater
