Empowering North Miami Beach Business Owners: A Look at the Annual Small Business Summit & Expo

North Miami Beach Small Business Expo Connects Entrepreneurs with Valuable Resources

The annual North Miami Beach Small Business Summit & Expo is set to take place on Wednesday at North Miami Beach City Hall from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event aims to support local businesses by providing them with valuable resources and opportunities to expand and grow, as well as create generational wealth for business owners. Commissioner Daniela Jean, who initiated the idea three years ago, remains committed to supporting small businesses as they believe they are the backbone of the community.

Commissioner Jean expects around 500 businesses to attend the expo, with over 3,000 registered in the city. Throughout her tenure as commissioner, she has been actively involved in partnering with organizations such as Google and Florida International University to provide support and resources for business owners. By offering grant information and educational opportunities, Jean hopes to empower North Miami Beach entrepreneurs and provide them with the tools necessary for success.

Attendees at the expo will have access to a range of resources and support services including grants and loans offered by sponsors such as Comcast, Miami Foundation, and Wells Fargo. A business coach will also be available on-site to assist entrepreneurs while 20 resource partners will provide marketing and financial education. As the Community Redevelopment Agency liaison for North Miami Beach, Jean works on various programs throughout the year that help local business owners network and access resources.

Recently, Jean sponsored an ordinance that supports food truck vendors by providing them with more opportunities to serve local residents. The city also offers series in collaboration with Google and Florida International University that helps entrepreneurs succeed in their businesses. The expo serves as a platform for business owners to connect, learn and grow in a supportive environment that empowers them towards financial freedom and increased quality of life.

Jean hopes that more residents will be inspired to start their own businesses through this initiative which has become an annual tradition that continues to grow each year.
