Expanding Accessible Healthcare in Mount Vernon with New Health Center Opening”.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Celebrated at Mount Vernon Health Center

Mount Vernon Health Center recently opened its doors, marking another step in bringing accessible healthcare to the community. The facility was officially unveiled during a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by Mount Vernon Mayor Matt Starr and county Health Commissioner Zach Green.

Both Starr and Green emphasized the importance of meeting the community where they are in terms of healthcare needs. The health center includes nine medical treatment rooms, two behavioral health counseling offices, telehealth privacy capabilities, and five additional exam rooms to increase patient care. This is the sixth facility in the Knox Public Health family.

Patient numbers have been increasing since the health center opened, and Community Health Center Director/CEO Lane Belangia noted that this is the goal of the center. Belangia stressed that this increase in patients is a positive sign, as it indicates that the community is utilizing and benefiting from the services provided. The new health center aims to provide quality healthcare services to the Mount Vernon community in a convenient and accessible location.
