Fugitive American Criminal Arrested in Rome with Three Knives: Real Estate Agents Terrorized for Years

US criminal arrested in St. Peter’s Square during meeting with Pope Francis

On April 10, the American fugitive Moiss Tejada, 54 years old and wanted as one of the most dangerous criminals by the state of NY, was arrested near St. Peter’s Square in Rome. The Italian police confirmed that Tejada was armed with three 20-centimeter knives which he had in his pocket. According to reports from The Republic, Tejada informed the magistrates after his arrest that he had arrived in Italy from Kyiv, and investigators were able to confirm his transit through Moldova before reaching Rome.

Real estate agents in the United States have been terrorized by Tejada for years, and he is currently in prison awaiting extradition proceedings. Authorities are processing a US extradition request for him to face charges in his home country. The day of his arrest, St. Peter’s Square was crowded due to the presence of Pope Francis, and the police noticed his suspicious behavior. It is not yet clear what motivated Tejada to come to Rome or if he had any intention of committing crimes there.
