G7 Leaders Make Historic Commitments to Combat Climate Change and Foster Economic Growth in Africa

Decisions made at the G7 Summit in Venaria Reale regarding climate, environment, and energy

During a recent G7 Climate, Energy, and Environment meeting held at the Royal Palace of Venaria, significant commitments were made by the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin. The coalition of seven industrialized nations has set a target to phase out coal by the first half of the next decade, marking a first in such an objective. Furthermore, the importance of water conservation was highlighted, with a commitment to focus on this issue moving forward.

In addition to environmental issues, Italy emphasized the need for fostering growth and equality in Africa. This was well-received by all participating countries, who agreed to integrate mechanisms for financial frameworks and investments to support economic and social development in Africa.
