During her recent visit to a newly opened campaign headquarters in Livingston County, Governor Gretchen Whitmer emphasized the importance of visiting conservative areas like Brighton to show that Democrats understand the significance of every vote in the upcoming 2024 election. Whitmer, who is actively campaigning for President Joe Biden’s reelection, believes that wages are increasing and there are many other economic issues that voters are concerned about, such as reproductive rights, access to skills training for better job opportunities, and onshoring supply chains. Despite concerns about inflation, Michigan’s unemployment rate remains low at 3.9%. Whitmer aims to reassure people that they will soon start to see economic improvements, even if they are not feeling them yet.
