Hamas Places Blame on Netanyahu for Stalled Cairo Negotiations: The Road to Peace Remains Unclear

Hamas source says Israeli delegation kept them waiting in Cairo for two days

During a recent interview with the Saudi TV channel Al-Sharak, a Hamas delegation member placed responsibility for the stalled negotiations in Cairo on Benjamin Netanyahu. The Islamic Resistance Movement is open to continuing talks if a willing partner joins the process, but has been waiting for two days for Israel’s delegation to arrive in Cairo.

The Hamas representative emphasized their interest in reaching an agreement and their readiness to continue negotiations, highlighting that they have proposed their own interpretations of certain points of the agreement. However, they are awaiting a clear response from Israel’s side. The representative also highlighted Netanyahu’s statements to the Israelis as raising suspicions about his true intentions towards resolving the conflict.

Despite these challenges, there is still hope for reaching an agreement if both sides demonstrate seriousness in the negotiations. The focus remains on finding common ground and moving towards a resolution that benefits both sides.
