Hauppauge Middle School Students Awarded Medals at PWGC Science Fair

The 2024 PWGC Science Fair recently held its awards ceremony, where three students from Hauppauge Middle School were recognized for their outstanding research projects. Vaibhavi Hedge earned third place for her work on creating biodegradable plastic, receiving a $250 prize. Ishaan Maheshkumar came in second place with his project on energy conservation using the Seebeck Effect, earning a $500 cash reward. Mihir Sathish Kumar took home first place and a $1,000 cash prize for his research on microplastic filtration.

The Hauppauge School District commended the students for their exceptional achievements and expressed pride in their hard work and dedication to science research. Director of Science and Research, Robert Wankmuller, congratulated the winners and their teacher Janice Caffrey on their success at the science fair.
