Invest Nest Encourages High School Entrepreneurship with $5,000 Prizes for First-Place Winners

Annual Invest Nest Competition Brings PCHS Business Students Together to Compete for Funding

Invest Nest, a non-profit organization, hosts a competition for high school students in Utah to showcase their business ideas and receive financial backing. Dylan Rifkin, a high school student involved in the PC CAPS program, is helping to organize and market the competition. The competition is separate from the CAPS program but works closely with them to organize events throughout the school year.

The contestants work on their ideas outside of school hours and cover a wide range of industries from apparel brands to renewable energy and crypto. The ideas presented will be judged based on their development, presentation, and feasibility in the real world. The public is welcome to attend the final pitches of the top six finalists at the Park City Eccles Theater.

Participants will give elevator pitches to the judges, investors, and the public, who will then vote for a winner. The first-place winner will receive $5,000 and advance to the state finals in Provo to compete for a $20,000 prize. The second-place finisher will also receive $5,000, and third place will receive $2,500. Each participant will receive $1,000 for their efforts in the competition.

Invest Nest has supported over 100 high school student startups, with 40 of them still active. The organization works with eight districts in the state, including Park City and Wasatch County School Districts, to promote and advance entrepreneurship among high school students.

During its 17th season of competitions held across Utah’s schools since 2016 Invest Nest has become one of the most successful programs aimed at developing young entrepreneurs in our state.

The PC CAPS program plays an essential role in preparing students for success by providing them with valuable skills such as critical thinking and problem-solving abilities that are necessary for any successful entrepreneurial venture.

Invest Nest provides students with an opportunity to turn their business ideas into reality by connecting them with potential investors who can provide funding towards their projects.

The competition serves as an excellent platform for students to showcase their talents and gain valuable experience while also having fun competing against others.

In conclusion, Invest Nest is making significant contributions towards promoting entrepreneurship among high school students by providing them with opportunities to pitch their business ideas
