Fred Taylor, a longtime Jacksonville Jaguars running back, recently achieved a significant milestone by receiving his college degree at the University of Florida. At 48 years old, Taylor had already enjoyed a successful 13-year career in the NFL, earning nearly $41 million and becoming a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Although there was no pressing need for Taylor to complete his college education, he had made a promise that he was determined to fulfill. After finishing his final class for a sociology degree, Taylor walked across the stage at Florida’s commencement ceremony, more than 26 years after leaving the university to pursue his NFL dreams.
