Leak of India’s T20 World Cup Jersey Spoils Team Announcement: Analysis

Team India’s T20 World Cup 2024 Jersey Sparks Social Media Frenzy

With the T20 World Cup 2024 just a month away, images of India’s new cricket team jersey have been leaked online. The tri-colour stripes and v-shaped neckline, along with Adidas stripes on the saffron sleeves, are not the first time Team India has shown off their new kit, but this release is a setback as it was typically done through official channels.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently announced their 15-man squad for the tournament, as well as four reserves who will be traveling with them. Notable players like Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, and Yuzvendra Chahal made a comeback to the team, while others such as KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer were left out. Rinku Singh was notably excluded from the final roster by the BCCI selection committee.

India’s T20 World Cup squad features three seamers – Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Arshdeep Singh – along with four spinners including Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Kuldeep Yadav. Captain Rohit Sharma discussed why four spinners were included in the squad despite leaving out players like Shubman Gill and Rinku Singh during a press conference.
