Measles Warning in Rock County, Wisconsin: Health Officials Urge Unvaccinated Individuals to Take Precautions

Rock Co. residents urged to be cautious of measles exposure by health officials

In recent news, Rock County Public Health (RCPH) in Wisconsin is issuing a warning to the community about possible exposure to measles. An individual from Dane County who was infectious spent time in Rock County, prompting RCPH and several other health organizations to work together to identify and notify individuals who may have been exposed to the measles virus.

People who may have been exposed to measles are being urged to check their vaccination status if they visited certain locations in Milton, Janesville, and Janesville during specific dates and times. Kwik Trip on W Madison Ave in Milton between 2:45 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, SSM Health Dean Medical Group on E Racine St in Janesville between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday, April 22, and SSM Health Mary’s Hospital on E Racine St in Janesville between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23 are the locations of concern.

Individuals who were at these locations during the specified dates and times are being advised to stay home if they are unvaccinated and contact RCPH or their local health department for guidance. SSM Health is reaching out to patients who may have been exposed to measles while on campus at these times through MyChart or by phone
