Microsoft Pauses Copilot Feature Launch to Fine-Tune Experiences with User Feedback

Microsoft pauses development of upcoming Copilot features to enhance them

Microsoft has paused the launch of new features for Copilot in order to fine-tune them based on user feedback. The company will be hosting its annual developer conference, Microsoft Build, from May 21 to May 23, where more information about AI technology and its assistant is expected to be revealed.

In addition, Microsoft has released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22635.3570 (KB5037008) in the Beta channel, which includes bug fixes from the previous version. The company has been testing different experiences for Copilot on Windows, with one new capability allowing Copilot to act as a normal application window and display a dynamic taskbar icon.

While these developments are promising, Microsoft has decided to delay the deployment of these experiences in order to further refine them using user feedback. Copilot on Windows will continue to function as intended while Microsoft works on developing new ideas with participants in the Windows Insider program.

Microsoft also announced that it will document changes in Windows Beta Channel builds in two groups: one for new features, improvements, and fixes being gradually rolled out and another for updates and new features available to everyone in the Beta Channel. These changes will be implemented gradually and will be optional for users.

Some of the corrections currently being implemented in the Beta Channel include fixes for wide spaces between desktop icons and unexpected address bar menus while using File Explorer, among others.
