Nelly Korda Achieves Historic LPGA Victory at Chevron Championship

American Nelly Korda made her dreams come true by winning the Chevron Championship with a score of 13 under. She finished the final round with five birdies and two bogeys, despite starting one shot behind the leader Ryu Hae-ran of South Korea. Korda’s win marked her fifth consecutive tournament victory, equaling an LPGA record. This major title is the second of her career, making her join an exclusive list of players who have achieved this feat, including Nancy Lopez in 1978 and Annika Sorenstam in 2005.

Maja Stark from Sweden finished second place two shots behind Korda, while Lauren Coughlin from America had the best round of the day with a four-under 68 and ended up tied for third place with Canada’s Brooke Henderson on 10 under. Georgia Hall, Charley Hull, and Lottie Woad from England finished in a share of 23rd place at one under. Stephanie Meadow from Northern Ireland finished a shot further back.

Korda expressed her nerves and excitement after the win, stating that winning a major had always been a dream of hers since childhood. Her victory at the Chevron Championship has cemented her status as one of the top golfers in the world today.
