New Zealand has announced its provisional 15-man squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup, with Kane Williamson named as the captain. Devon Conway, who recently suffered a thumb injury and was ruled out of the IPL, returns to international cricket for the tournament. Ben Sears has been designated as the 16th traveling reserve.
The squad includes veterans Tim Southee and Trent Boult, with Rachin Ravindra and Matt Henry being the only newcomers to international T20 cricket. Adam Milne is unavailable due to an ankle surgery, while Kyle Jamieson is recovering from a stress fracture in his lower back. New Zealand coach Gary Stead is confident that the team has selected players who can adapt to the varied conditions in the West Indies where the tournament will be held.
