New Zealand Unveils 15-Man Squad for T20 World Cup: A Mix of Experience and Youth

Kane Williamson to Captain NZ Squad for T20 World Cup 2024 with Fit Devon Conway

New Zealand has announced their 15-man squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup, with a mix of experienced and new players. Matt Henry and Rachin Ravindra are the only two players set to make their debut in the tournament, while Devon Conway has been included in the squad after recovering from a broken thumb. Kane Williamson leads the team as captain, having missed New Zealand’s last two T20I series but now returns to lead the team.

Veterans Tim Southee and Trent Boult are also part of the experienced squad. Conway had been ruled out of the IPL due to his injury, but he is now fit to play in the World Cup. Williamson missed New Zealand’s last two T20I series but now returns to lead the team. Adam Milne and Kyle Jamieson are unavailable due to injuries, but the squad also includes Allen, Bracewell, Chapman, Neesham, and Sodhi who went on the tour of Pakistan.

New Zealand coach Gary Stead believes that this squad has all bases covered and is capable of adapting to different conditions in the West Indies. He praised Matt Henry for his hard work on his T20 skills and Rachin Ravindra for his impressive performances over the past year. The squad consists of players who have proven themselves in the format and are ready to compete in the upcoming tournament.
