Penguin Rep Theatre is set to premiere the new musical The Sabbath Girl, directed by Joe Brancato. The show will run from May 3rd to May 26th at the Stony Point, New York venue, marking the beginning of the theatre’s 46th season.
The cast includes Marilyn Caserta as Angie, Diana Di Marzio as Sophia, Rory Max Kaplan as Blake, Lauren Singerman as Rachel, and Max Wolkowitz as Seth. The musical follows the story of art gallery owner Angie Mastrantoni, who finds herself unexpectedly drawn into a romance with a neighbor.
The production features set design by Christopher and Justin Swader, costume design by Gregory Gale, lighting design by Jamie Roderick, and sound design by Kwamina Biney. Musical supervision and arrangements will be done by Wendy Bobbit Cavett, with musical direction by Matthew Lowy and orchestrations by Alex Wise. Movement consultation will be provided by Ryan Kasprzak, and Michael Palmer will serve as the production stage manager.
