Muncy High School’s senior pitcher Nolah Moyer, who is committed to Division I St. Bonaventure, and catcher Taylor Shannon led their team to a 13-0 victory over Bucktail in the Mid-Penn championship game. The win secured Muncy’s second consecutive championship and put them in a commanding 17-0 record, going 11-0 in the league.

Moyer was exceptional throughout the game, pitching a one-hit shutout while also hitting a home run and driving in five runs at bat. Her impressive performance included reaching over 200 strikeouts for the season and recording her 15th shutout. Shannon also had an outstanding game, going 3 for 3 with two home runs and five RBIs.

Casey Fry and Kaylyn Rice contributed to Muncy’s offense with doubles, with Rice driving in a run and Fry scoring three times. The final score was 13-0 after five innings of play, with Bucktail’s Gianna Balchun breaking up Moyer’s no-hit bid in the fifth inning.

Muncy will face Mifflinburg at home in their next game, while Bucktail will play Jersey Shore in Farwell. Despite both teams displaying strong performances, Muncy’s dominant offense and stellar pitching by Moyer proved too much for Bucktail. The win solidified Muncy’s position as a top contender in the league as they head into the home stretch of the season.
