Participants in Support of Gaza Sit-In in New York Detained by Police

A sit-in protest was held outside the Leonard Stern School of Business at New York University by a group of students and teachers. The protesters were chanting anti-Israeli slogans and some of them had their heads wrapped in Arabic scarves (keffiyeh). The strike was held in solidarity with Palestine and as a symbol of condemnation of Israel’s 200-day war in Gaza, according to CNN.

Despite the tensions, no serious incidents were reported during the demonstration. Israeli supporters carrying Israeli flags also appeared alongside the protesters, adding another dimension to the protest.
