In the upcoming European elections, which will take place on June 9, Kauppalehti’s European Parliament election machine is now available for use. This tool helps users choose a candidate by presenting them with 20 statements that candidates have already answered. By providing your own answers to these statements, you can see which candidates and parties align best with your views and values.

The Eurovalekone’s statements cover various topics such as EU operations, foreign and security policy, environment and climate, and values. By answering these statements with options like “completely disagree” to “completely agree”, users can receive accurate results on candidate suitability. The voting machine also offers a value map that shows the ranking of candidates on conservative-liberal and right-left axes.

Users can view candidates and parties that match their preferences, as well as those that are less suitable, on the results page. They can also delve deeper into candidates’ responses and compare different candidates directly on the website. While the selection of candidates is ongoing until the deadline on May 30, users can expect more candidates to be added to the tool as the process continues.

Early voting for the European Parliament elections starts on May 29, with advance voting abroad ending on June 1 and in Finland on June 4. The candidate list will be confirmed on May 10, along with candidate numbers for the election, ensuring that users have all the necessary information to make an informed decision on voting day.
