Revolutionizing Sports Content: Samsung’s Expansion of TV Plus and New Sports Channels

Samsung TV Plus adds live hockey, sports, family, and news options to FAST Hub.

Samsung TV Plus, a streaming platform operated by smart TV giant Samsung, is set to revolutionize the sports world as part of its wider programming expansion. During a packed NewFronts presentation in New York, the company revealed plans to live stream games from the Ontario Reign, an American Hockey League team affiliated with the NHL’s LA Kings. Additionally, Samsung announced new sports channels including Major League Baseball, PGA Tour, MMA’s ONE Championship, and Formula 1.

Michael Scott, VP and Head of Ad Sales and Operations at Samsung Ads, spoke about Samsung TV Plus as “America’s first choice for television”, highlighting its accessibility and streaming capabilities. Beyond sports content, the platform will offer a variety of programming including news, family-friendly shows and music content. To enhance its lineup even further, Samsung announced a partnership with Warner Music to add more channels to its already impressive roster of nearly 500 national and local channels.

Samsung also revealed plans to integrate ads into its mobile app Samsung News which is pre-loaded on Galaxy devices. Furthermore, Samsung is venturing into the gaming space with two new games set for release later this year. Rivals Arena is a cinematic card game featuring advertiser QR codes while The Six is a trivia game integrated into Samsung connected devices. By providing innovative gaming experiences without the need for traditional gaming consoles, Samsung aims to engage consumers in new ways.
