Savoring the Flavors of Stonefly Grill: Montana’s Small Town Sensation in Craig

Craig’s Stonefly Grill Restaurant celebrates one year of operation

Nestled in the small town of Craig, Montana, is a new and exciting restaurant called Stonefly Grill. Owned by Alan Michaud, the restaurant takes pride in creating everything from scratch, including smoking meats and making sausage and Canadian bacon. Despite operating in a tiny 10-by-30 kitchen space, Stonefly Grill has received rave reviews for its food, including some of the best pizza in the area.

The menu at Stonefly Grill offers a variety of options, from burgers and fries to pizza and salads, all made with locally sourced ingredients such as grass-fed and finished Montana beef. The restaurant, which is celebrating its one year anniversary, is attached to the Craig Taphouse and is only open seasonally for six months out of the year.

Like many businesses in Craig and other small Montana towns, Stonefly Grill faces challenges such as relying on good waterflow and tourist turnout for business. However, the dedication to crafting delicious food from scratch has garnered the restaurant a loyal following.
