Texas A&M Secures Major Recruiting Victory with Top QB Prospect Husan Longstreet

Aggies Secure Commitment from Husan Longstreet, No. 5-ranked QB in 2025 Class

Texas A&M secured a major recruiting victory on Sunday as four-star quarterback prospect Husan Longstreet announced his commitment to the Aggies. Longstreet, who is ranked as the No. 28 player nationally and the No. 5 quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class, had been considering Auburn, Louisville, Ole Miss, and Oregon before ultimately deciding on Texas A&M.

Longstreet is a product of Centennial High School in Corona, California and has been highly sought after by college football programs across the country. He visited Texas A&M for one of its junior day events in February, where he got to spend time around first-year Aggies coach Mike Elko and his staff. Longstreet is now the sixth prospect to join Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class and is seen as a cornerstone piece for Elko as he navigates through his first full recruiting cycle with the Aggies.

If his evaluation by 247Sports’ Greg Biggins is any indication, Longstreet has an opportunity to climb even further up the rankings. Biggins described Longstreet as having one of the strongest arms in the West, a quick release, and the ability to generate a ton of velocity with little effort. He also noted Longstreet’s improving athleticism and leadership qualities.

It’s impressive that Elko was able to land a highly-touted quarterback from outside of Texas A&M’s regional footprint. In recent years, Texas A&M has primarily signed in-state quarterbacks but made an exception for Longstreet due to his exceptional talent and potential. After a successful season at Inglewood High School, Longstreet transferred to Centennial where he continued to excel both as a passer and a runner.
