The Marvelous Rise of Kris Kim: The Youngest Golfer to Make the PGA Tour Cut in Years.

Kris Kim, 16-year-old amateur, impresses the golf world by making cut in PGA Tour debut

Golfing prodigy Kris Kim has taken the golf world by storm during his debut on the PGA Tour. At just 16 years old and an amateur, he made history by becoming the youngest player to make the cut in nine years. He also set a new record as the youngest ever at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, surpassing Jordan Spieth’s previous record from 2010.

Kim impressed with his impressive play, shooting a three-under-68 in the first round and a four-under-67 in the second round at the tournament in McKinney, Texas. Despite feeling nervous on the 18th hole, he managed to sink a birdie putt to secure his spot in the cut. He expressed his excitement at being able to play for two more days and enjoyed every moment of it.

Kim’s success can be attributed to his mother, Ji-Hyun Suh, who introduced him to golf at a young age and now coaches his swing. He has had a successful amateur career, winning numerous championships before stepping up to the PGA Tour.

After two rounds, Kim currently sits in a tie for 36th place, seven shots behind leader Jake Knapp. Knapp’s impressive performance pushed him ahead of second-place contenders Matt Wallace and Troy Merritt. Meanwhile, Spieth failed to make the cut due to injury.

Kim will tee off for the third round on Saturday morning while Knapp and Merritt will tee off in the afternoon. The young golfer’s impressive debut has caught everyone’s attention and positioned him as a rising star in golfing world.
