Microsoft and Google compete for leadership in productivity and business apps in new report: Google holds advantage with platform dominance, but Microsoft’s LinkedIn shines as top professional social network.

A recent study by SplitMetrics has revealed that mobile users are increasingly utilizing their smartphones to manage their work and daily tasks. The top apps in the business and productivity categories have collectively seen billions of downloads, with Microsoft’s LinkedIn leading the way in the business category. Other popular apps include Zoom, Microsoft Teams, OfficeSuite, and Indeed.

In the productivity category, Google dominates with apps such as Google Drive, Google Calendar, Microsoft OneDrive, Google Assistant, and Google Keep. These apps have received billions of downloads over their lifetime. The study also highlights the apps that have shown significant growth year-over-year, including Lopay, Etsy Seller, JobSwipe, Parcel Tracking, Shopify, PDF Reader, Notepad, All Document Reader, Google Tasks, and Link to Windows.
