Three Tourists Murdered in a Surfing Holiday Gone Wrong on Mexican Coast: A Tragic Story of Robbery and Resistance

Three surfers from abroad killed in botched robbery in Mexico, three suspects apprehended

On a surfing holiday on the Mexican coast, three friends, two Australians and an American, were murdered in a robbery gone wrong. The victims were identified as Callum (33) and Jake (30) Robinson, and their American friend Jack Rhoad (30), who disappeared without a trace last weekend.

According to reports from Mexican authorities, the friends had booked an Airbnb in northern Baja California state but did not show up. When Rhoades was absent from work in San Diego, their social media channels went silent, prompting a missing persons report. Their car was later found burned out near their campsite, and the bodies of the trio were discovered in a 15-meter deep well on Saturday.

Mexican authorities have launched a murder investigation, with prosecutor Maria Elena Andrade Ramirez stating that everything indicates the three friends were killed during a robbery when they allegedly resisted. Three suspects have been arrested, with local police mentioning that they were in possession of narcotics. One suspect was also found with the phone of one of the Robinson brothers.
