Gary Mensch, owner of JJ’s Furniture, was among those affected by the tornado. His family-owned business was destroyed in an instant, leaving 25 years of hard work in ruins. Despite his home being spared, the furniture store lost its roof and was left in shambles, with debris and bricks scattered everywhere.

The tornado injured dozens of people in Sulphur and tragically claimed the life of one woman who had to be rescued from the debris of a downtown bar. The community is now coming together to support one another and rebuild what was lost.
