Trump’s ‘God Bless America’ Bible Sales Draw Criticism and Ridicule

Warnock calls Trump’s use of Bibles ‘risky’

Senator Rafael Warnock (D-Ga.) has slammed former President Trump for selling branded Bibles, calling it a risky business due to the former president’s past sins. During an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Warnock, who is also a reverend, emphasized that the Bible does not require Trump’s endorsement. He used a story from the Bible where Jesus chased money changers out of the temple to highlight the importance of sacred things not being used for profit.

Trump’s “God Bless USA” Bibles, priced at $60 each and containing the Constitution and Declaration of Independence, have raised concerns about the rise of Christian nationalism in the country. Warnock remarked that it was not surprising to see Trump selling Bibles and described it as an attempt to deceive the American people. He also pointed out the irony of Trump’s history of dishonesty in light of the Bible sales, warning that it was risky for someone like Trump to engage in such business.

The announcement of the Bible sales has been met with criticism and ridicule, with former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) suggesting that Trump should read a Bible, particularly pointing out the commandment against adultery. The controversy surrounding the branded Bibles has also been parodied on “Saturday Night Live” and denounced by various critics, including lawmakers.
