UBS CEO Sergio Ermotti Earns Staggering 14.4 Million Swiss Francs as Europe’s Highest-Paid Banker in 2023

Europe’s highest-paid banker is UBS CEO, earning over 14 million euros

Sergio Ermotti, CEO of the Swiss banking giant UBS, is known for his impressive salary. In 2023, he received a staggering 14.4 million Swiss francs for nine months of work. This made him the highest-paid banker in Europe, surpassing his predecessor Ralph Hamers’ compensation by 1.8 million francs.

Ermotti took over as CEO of UBS in April with the responsibility of managing the takeover of Credit Suisse. With his vast experience in banking and leadership, he was able to successfully execute this task and receive such a lucrative payout.

In comparison to other high-paid executives in the industry, Ermotti’s salary falls short of JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon’s $36 million earnings in 2022. However, it still places him among the top-paid banking executives globally, highlighting his significant contributions to UBS and the industry as a whole.
