Union-Endicott Softball Team Takes Down Seton Catholic Central in Nine Innings with Late Rally, Johnson City Defeats Susquehanna Valley in Six

The Union-Endicott softball team continued their impressive winning streak with a 13-0 record, securing a close 4-3 victory in nine innings against Seton Catholic Central. This win came after a previous 4-1 victory against Binghamton in eight innings. The Tigers found themselves trailing 3-0 after an RBI single by Teresa McKinney in the fifth inning before rallying back with three runs in their half of the inning, culminating in a tying run from Marie Mouillessaux’s double.

In the bottom of the ninth, Lisa Lamey drew a walk, advanced to third on Michelle Wolf’s bunt, and scored on Lisa Jones’ sacrifice fly to secure the victory. The team had an impressive collective batting average of .344, with Caren Osier leading the team with a .529 average followed by Shannon Walsh at .475.

On the other hand, Johnson City also emerged victorious with a 6-5 win over Susquehanna Valley, scoring three runs in the sixth inning. The rally started with Tina Stanton’s home run, followed by base hits from Lori Czeitner and Brenda Mott, who both scored on Cris Charpinsky’s two-out double. Both teams demonstrated strong performances in these thrilling matchups.
