Unlocking the Fence: An Urgent Call to Action for Family-Friendly Fencing Activities

Opinion: Implement Technology and Fencing to Manage Entrances

Unfortunately, fencing has become a significant issue that requires immediate attention. One possible solution could be to implement a one-time entrance fee, which can be paid at a debit/credit kiosk. This fee could be refundable after a day or two. Charging $3-$5 per entrance could discourage those who don’t have credit cards or prefer not to identify themselves.

To ensure added security, a small camera could take a one-time picture at each entrance or transaction. This would provide additional assurance and recognition. With names recorded for each entrance and a picture taken, there would be proof of who was present. In the event of a stolen credit card, there would be evidence of the scammer in action.

It is unfortunate that we need to restrict access to fencing for families simply looking to spend quality time with their children. I hope that as the country recovers from this crisis, things will improve for everyone involved in fencing activities.
