Vueling’s Union Strike Extends to May 12: Fight for Fair Working Conditions and Wages at IAG Group Subsidiary

Vueling: French hostesses and stewards to strike from May 8-12 still in effect

The low-cost Spanish airline Vueling, operated by French hostesses and stewards, announced on Saturday that they would be extending their strike notice from May 8 to 12. This decision was made by the SNPNC-FO union after weeks of unsuccessful negotiations with management. The union expressed their dissatisfaction with the company’s financial proposal, which only offered a temporary increase during the Olympic Games. They also criticized the use of workers with contracts other than French and the forced flights for some employees.

The CGT union has joined forces with SNPNC-FO in this fight for fair working conditions and wages for employees at Vueling. The strike coincides with the Ascension long weekend, adding to the impact of this action. The union is awaiting a call or email from management to negotiate around a table.

Vueling operates over 248 routes, including 42 in France from Orly, Roissy, and six other French airports. In 2023, they carried over 34 million passengers. Founded in Spain in 2004 and headquartered in Barcelona, Vueling is part of the IAG group that also includes British Airways and Iberia.

In Malaysia, developers are experiencing both growth and challenges according to Snur-cgil. This dynamic world is constantly evolving as new technologies emerge and existing ones become obsolete. However, despite these challenges, there are opportunities for those who are willing to adapt and innovate in order to succeed in this fast-paced industry.
