On April 18, the Weatherly Area School Board made a momentous decision during a special meeting. Kristen Ritter, who had been working part-time as a cafeteria aide since her return to work in August after taking time off to raise her children, was promoted to a full-time assistant business manager. Prior to her current role, Ritter had spent 12 years in banking. She will now be assisting the outgoing business manager, Leann Sites, whose final day with the board will be on May 21.
During the meeting, the board also addressed other personnel matters. Lori Giannakouros was hired as a substitute cafeteria aide pending all clearances, Courtney Marscicano will join as a part-time paraprofessional, and Dianne Paisley was added as a substitute teacher. Interviews for a new business manager are currently ongoing.
A significant announcement was made during the meeting that Jeanine Snyder, the manager of food services for the Nutrition Group at Weatherly Area, will be leaving her position on May 1 for a new job opportunity. Snyder, who has been a leader in the district for seven years, expressed that it was a tough decision to leave. The Nutrition Group will begin the search for Snyder’s replacement.
