WZLX Welcomes Back Rich Shertenlieb with New Show as the Station Reinvents Itself after Tragic Loss

Rich Shertenlieb, former co-host of Sports Hub, reveals upcoming Boston radio show

Boston’s classic rock station WZLX is welcoming back Rich Shertenlieb to its lineup with a new show, “The Rich Shertenlieb Show.” After departing from The Sports Hub in November, Shertenlieb is excited to reconnect with his fans in the city. He hinted at several topics he plans to discuss on his new show during his announcement, including non-compete agreements.

Shertenlieb originally arrived in Boston in 2006, teaming up with Fred Toucher at the now-defunct WBCN rock station. This move marks a comeback for Shertenlieb, who has been working on assembling a new team of co-hosts whose identities are yet to be revealed. The addition of Shertenlieb to the WZLX lineup comes as the station bids farewell to its current morning show hosts, Pete McKenzie and Heather Ford. While expressing gratitude for their contributions over the years, WZLX announced a change in direction and the closure of their chapter at the station. This change follows the tragic passing of longtime WZLX morning show DJ Kevin Karlson last October at 59 years old.
