Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Discusses Security Challenges and NATO Cooperation in the South Caucasus

During a recent presentation at NATO headquarters in Brussels, Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan discussed the security challenges facing the South Caucasus region, including efforts to normalize relations with Azerbaijan and Turkey, both of which are members of the alliance.

Kostanyan highlighted the importance of Armenia’s participation in the “Partnership for Peace” program of the North Atlantic Alliance over thirty years ago, which laid the foundation for further cooperation between Armenia and NATO. He emphasized that Armenia is ready to enhance its cooperation with NATO and its member states to increase its defense and security capabilities.

The meeting also touched on international security issues of mutual interest, underscoring the need for collaboration in addressing common challenges. Kostanyan reiterated Armenia’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with NATO and its member states in pursuit of shared goals.
