Closing the Hunger Gap: Local Events Boost Support for Flathead Food Bank

The Flathead Food Bank will benefit from the 13th annual Closing the Hunger Gap food drive held by FundraiserAlliance Title & Escrow in May. Throughout the month, donations of both food and funds will be accepted at Flathead Valley branches, with a portion of revenue generated in May being donated to the cause. Drop-offs of donations are accepted during business hours until May 31. Since its inception in 2012, this campaign has contributed over 268,000 pounds of food and $377,000 to local communities in need.

The Bigfork Chamber of Commerce will host its May Sundowner on May 9 at 5 p.m. at Tall Pine, located at 435 Grand Drive in Bigfork. This event offers an opportunity for business professionals to network and learn about upcoming events in the community.

On May 14, the Columbia Falls Chamber of Commerce is hosting its May membership luncheon at Cedar Creek Lodge found at 930 Second Ave. W in Columbia Falls. The speaker for this luncheon is Doug Mitchell, executive director of the Glacier National Park Conservancy, who will discuss upcoming events related to the park and conservation efforts in the area.

Businesses looking to maximize their membership can attend a Maximize Your Membership session hosted by the Kalispell Chamber of Commerce on May 6 from 8-9 a.m. This session will take place at the chamber located on South Main St., Suite 205, and attendees will learn how to make the most out of their chamber membership through various tools and resources available to them.

In addition to these events, businesses can also participate in government affairs committee meetings hosted by the Kalispell Chamber of Commerce on May 6 at noon at South Main St., Suite 205. During these meetings, attendees will have an opportunity to hear from Jarod Nygren from the city of Kalispell about updates related to Main Street Safety Action Plan.
