Daring Thieves Busted in Palm Desert: 47-Year-Old Man from Glendale, 40-Year-Old Hollywood Man Arrested

Arrests Made in Theft Incident at El Paseo Business by Two LA-area Men

Two men from Los Angeles were arrested for theft in Palm Desert. A 47-year-old man from Glendale and a 40-year-old man from Hollywood were taken into custody after a short pursuit that was linked to an earlier investigation.

The incident happened on Monday at around 5:30 p.m., when deputies responded to a grand theft at a business located on the 73000 block of El Paseo in Palm Desert. According to reports, two men had entered the store, concealed merchandise on their bodies, and left without paying. They then fled in a white, newer-model Lexus.

Following the incident, the Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team (SET) and the Palm Desert Business District Team (BDT) took over the investigation. The suspects were found at approximately 8:35 p.m., parked at a shopping center on Highway 111 and Washington Street in La Quinta. They tried to evade deputies but were eventually apprehended.

Deputies discovered the stolen items as well as numerous suspected stolen bottles of wine and over-the-counter medication inside the suspect’s vehicle. Both suspects were taken to the John Benoit Detention Center for charges of grand theft and felony evading.
