Exploring the Future of Animal Science: NCTA Hosts Annual Discover Day on May 29th

KRVN Radio Stations and KAMI Present: Animal Science Discovery Day

The annual Animal Science Discover Day is set for May 29th, Wednesday from 9:00am to 3:30 pm in Curtis, NE at the NCTA Campus. All youth aged 8-18 years are invited to attend this event that will focus on various aspects of livestock production and careers. Participants will attend seven different workshops taught by animal science teachers and gain important life skills. This year’s sessions include new topics such as meat science, calving simulation, horse IV, Livestock skillathon, quiz bowl, Zoonosis, Animal welfare, Ag Advocacy and more!

The sessions are designed to be learning experiences in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Parents and other adults interested in the livestock industry and in educating youth are encouraged to register and participate as well. This event is a great opportunity for all youth to learn more about the livestock industry, prepare for competitions, and enhance their life skills.

Participants can register and pay online by May 22nd for $15/participant. Late registrations will be $20/participant. The cost includes lunch provided by the Frontier County 4-H Council and Ag Valley Co-op. For more information, contact Kimberly at kimberly.cook@unl.edu. This event is beneficial for youth to increase their understanding of science, ag literacy, and technology.
