Accused Man Pleads Guilty to Business Burglaries

In Fargo, North Dakota, Amar Kovacevic has pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary and one count of theft. Originally facing charges of burglary, theft, unlawful vehicle entry, and refusal to halt in relation to the December 2023 burglaries, Kovacevic’s three other charges were dismissed on May 6.

Kovacevic will serve a sentence of 5 years in the Department of Corrections, but he will serve less than a year. He must first serve 1 year and 1 day with credit given for the 137 days already spent behind bars. Following his time in jail, he will be placed on 18 months of supervised probation.

Jacob Iten is the other man involved in the case and is facing multiple open cases related to burglary, theft, and drug possession. Between December 2023 and May 2024, Iten has been charged with over 20 counts across six separate court cases. On May 7th he was charged with theft and burglary charges in Cass County and there is currently a warrant out for his arrest.

As of now, Iten’s legal situation remains unresolved as he continues to face a significant number of charges. The authorities are actively seeking his arrest in connection with the latest allegations filed against him.
