Texas Gov. Greg Abbott joined forces with a 106-year-old man named Alfred “Al” Blaschke on a skydiving adventure that would challenge the title of the oldest person to tandem skydive. Previously, Blaschke had earned this title at the age of 103 in 2020, but his record was broken by a Swedish woman named Rut Linnéa Ingegärd Larsson who jumped at the age of 103 years and 259 days old.
To reclaim his title, Blaschke took to the skies once again, accompanied by Abbott. The governor’s first time skydiving marked an exciting moment for both men as they shared their love for adventure and pushing boundaries. As they soared through the air, Blaschke imparted some words of wisdom to Guinness World Records saying, “If you think you can’t, you’re just underestimating yourself. Everyone is more capable than they think. They just need to make the decision to try.”
