Yasir Anwar appointed as chief technology officer by Inspire Brands

On Tuesday, Inspire Brands announced the appointment of Yasir Anwar as its chief technology officer. With extensive experience in leading transformative change, Anwar has a proven track record of building in-house and agile technology teams. Most recently, he served as chief technology and digital officer of Williams-Sonoma, and previously as CTO of Macy’s. He has also held tech leadership positions at Walmart and Wells Fargo.

As Inspire Brands continues to grow and expand, Anwar’s expertise in technology strategy will be critical to developing shared capabilities for its iconic brands. This will enable the company to better serve its guests, franchisees, and gain valuable insights into its business through data.

In his new role as chief technology officer, Anwar will oversee various teams including product engineering, data engineering, technology operations, architecture, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, and infrastructure and development operations. He is excited about joining Inspire Brands during a dynamic time for the organization and is eager to contribute to the technology strategy for its six iconic brands.

Anwar officially joined Inspire on May 6 and reports directly to Paul Brown, co-founder and CEO of the company. He also serves on the company’s management committee.
