Is Hamas Heading to Yemen? US and Qatar Face Challenges over Expulsion of Extreme Terror Group

The Houthis are prepared to provide shelter for Hamas leaders if forced to leave Qatar

Recently, Muhammad al-Buhaiti, a top representative of the Yemeni Houthis and a member of the Politburo of the Ansar Allah movement, extended an invitation to Hamas leaders to move to Sanaa. In response to this invitation, Hamas leaders have been considering relocating their operations to Yemen. According to reports, the United States has expressed concerns about the presence of Hamas leaders in Qatar and has asked Qatari authorities to remove them if their presence interferes with a potential deal with Israel to secure the release of hostages held by terrorists in Gaza.

However, experts like former US Ambassador to Qatar Patrick Theros believe that expelling Hamas from Qatar could create significant challenges in future negotiations. Theros warned that removing Hamas from Qatar could potentially make any future negotiations almost impossible, creating a “nightmare” scenario for the White House. Despite these concerns, it remains unclear whether Hamas will ultimately decide to relocate its operations to Yemen or whether it will continue to operate from Qatar.
