Jets Replace Key Members of Sports Performance and Science Staff for 2024 Season

The Jets Implement Multiple Changes in Their Sports Performance and Science Department

The Jets have made some changes to their sports performance and sports science staff for the 2024 season. While head coach Robert Saleh and General Manager Joe Douglas have been retained, several key members of the team’s high-performance and sports science staff have departed.

Director of high performance Brad DeWeese, assistant director of high performance Robert Sausaman, and director of sports science Matt Sams all left the organization. DeWeese and Sausaman were hired after Saleh became coach in 2021. However, the team has not made any new additions on the performance side of the staff.

According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, these departures were not based on performance but rather due to significant injuries along the offensive line in the past two seasons. To address this issue, the team signed veteran tackles Tyron Smith and Morgan Moses to strengthen the line’s performance. Keeping these players healthy and on the field will be crucial for the team’s success in 2024.
